My 'checking out' reveals that the link relates to Ireland - and the price is thus in euros...

    Do you live in Ireland?

I've got CCTV set up on the back of my house.....

Second hand Micromark color CCTV camera unit £25
Redundant stock CDR / HDD recorder £27 (not HDMI, so worth nothing).

£52 for a CCTV system that'll record for around 90 hours non-stop and makes an audible beep if anyone passes in front of it.... Now THAT is money saving :)

  • We have an aldi cctv camera (£30) rigged up to a 160GB hard drive recorder (£50, technika from bigpockets) that will record something like a couple of weeks footage non stop, or far more if you set it to record from say, 6pm till 8am...

the lidl one looks ok but it only holds 2GB which is tiny - I would rather get a cctv camera and a HD recorder for a bit less money, that does far more.

Buying the kit that does everything for you is always going to be more expensive!

Kinda like buying ready chopped carrots and ready grated cheese from Morrisons or Tesco's.... (who the hell buys that stuff?)

  • lol thanks - you are right of course! Didn't think about the storage. I thought I read somewhere about timecode having to be on for legal reasons. Thanks for the advice.

Oh and we live at the border so we can buy in euros or sterling.
