My husband for some inexplicable reason opened a spam email, and then typed in the web address they offered! The main part of the address was tententwelvecorp.com.
He's downstairs now running all our protection, changing passwords and taking his credit card number off Amazon's 'remember me for future purchases' list.
We have a 2 firewalls, AVG, Adaware and Spybot.
Am I being neurotic to suspect that the damage, whatever it is, has been done? What's the worst that can happen?
I have a different email address, left over from the days of lineone, but I'm on the same Tiscali account.
Thanks

Not much will happen. You may have confirmed to the Spam originator that your address is active and therefore may recieve an extra dose of rubbish in future.
As long as no program has been downloaded and run. It's extremely unlikely anything has been compromised.
By all means run your AV and Spyware for peace of mind, but I wouldn't worry.0 -
Thanks nickmack. I feel much better.
I don't think he'll do it again!0 -
I second that, no problem with opening that email, get him to make sure that all the windows updates for the PC are done by going to
www.windowsupdate.com
as this will close any security holes in WindowsEx forum ambassador
