EX Highstreet Clothing on ebay. Cut Out Tags. Suspect?

I'm getting a bit fed up of seeing this on ebay.... EX high street store items with the seller saying they have cut out the tags etc. How do we actually know it comes from there? I could start selling any clothing and say that it was from M&S but I cut the tags out.
I'm a big fan of Evans store and am really suspicious of various items I have seen on ebay as I have never ever seen them in the store/online.
Is it just me thinking like this?

There is an interesting thread at the moment on the 'up your income' board about a wholesaler selling such clothes and saying labels must be cut out. Personally I suspect it is to hide the fact they are not what they pretend to be, but there are people who are buying these items from a third party to resell.

Its a condition of re-sale that many companies have when they dispose of old stock via warehouses and the likes.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0

Would they be allowed to photograph the item with the labels? and then state in the auction that the label will be removed before sending to the buyer?Whether we win or lose, that we played at all was a winning decision.

There a few clothes factory shops where I live that sell slight seconds, overruns, etc, from high street shops, Labels are cut so you can't buy for say £5 and take back to the shop for a refund at £10.0
