Car Insurance Companies

Please could anyone advise on the following:-

My car insurance was up for renewal my current insurance company sent me all the details including the new certificate. I wanted to check other companies to see if I could get a better deal.

I found another company but they asked me to send copies of my new certificate and evidence of protection no claims to them, which I did. However after reading the documents in more detail they were not offering the same product as they informed me they would match it at a cheaper price.

As they could not I cancelled this and asked them to return my documents, I did this over the phone and by letter. I was informed over the phone that my current insurance company would send me other copies, although im not happy with the company having my documents. With regards to the letter I have had no response and the documents have not been returned to me.
