Chesington or Thorpe Park?

My kids like both. I find more to do for the 7 year old at Chessington - I pay for at least one entry with Nectar points on the gate - others are Tesco clubcard. Because it if 'free' I get the the fast past as well.
Thorpe Park the older two 13 and 15 love but again I find to get the most out of the day you need to shell out on a fastpast.
We're off to Chessington on Monday. Have fun whichever you choose. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
I would go to Thorpe park just my opinion.0

i like both. but TP is definatly more thrill seeker aimed and chessington is for families. Chessington doesnt really have any 'thrill seeker' rides but they are fun rides the whole family can enjoy whereas like others have said TP is mainly big rides now so not much for the littleun's or those who dont like big rides to do.
Not been to Alton Towers for a while but would have to say TP is becoming more and more like it everyyear and probably has just as many if not more thrill seeker rides now.0 -
Thorpe park is definately more for the thrill seekers, and has some impressive rides. Im not overkeen on the very fast spinning around upside down sort of rides tho, so id go for Chessington. As you say chessington also has the zoo and sealife centre (which although not huge is pretty nice.) and is definately more family orientated.
If any of your party are not too keen on fast rides id personally give TP a miss as last time i went i spent more time sitting on walls holding everyones wallets etc, then doing anything else!
There is some "faster" rides at chessington, Rameses Revenge-not fast but my idea of hell as your spining round and round high up in the air! Rattlesnake-not scary by TP standards, but still quite a thrill due to the jolty nature of the ride, and another one which ive forgotton the name of!
Queue wise be prepared for the worst, I went to Thope park a couple of years ago and waited an hour and half for my other halfto come off one ride (and this was at the end of September on a weekday! Chessington is nearly as bad from what i hear, but ive only ever been during the week when the kids are at school.0
