Mesembryanthemum (livingstone daisy) seeds
I have quite a few mesembryanthemum plants and after they've flowered they seem to produce vast amounts of what would be seed pods, I think, if I left them on the plants. I usually snip them off so as the plants don't become straggly and I also figured that energy taken to produce the seeds would be channelled back into the plant enabling it to produce more flowers.
I'm wondering if I leave some of the dead flowerheads on and let them produce seeds, would I be able to plant them next year and be sure that tey would come true to the original plants?
Has anyone tried this with mesembryanthemums?

Great. I'll let them go to seed then and use the seeds for next year. They produce a lot of seeds, so next year they should look superb.0
