if other person is not offering build the site, then I could look at it for cost (ie: my time). If you don't want a e-commence (ie: payment by visa card etc) then i may be able to help. I think i should be able to add some sort of Paypal payment option.

Other than that, good luck. its hard starting a business. have you applied for any startup grants
  • no i havent applied for any grants but my costs are very low it will be more like a hobby that pays for itself if you know what i mean!!!

    Hey,
I'm looking to do something quite similar, and wondered if you could advise me on where I could find details of start up grants?

    Thanks!

Grants can be found via the Business Link website, by calling BL, calling your local council business division, your local chambers of commerce and any regional enterprise agencies. There are plenty of threads on here indicating that grants are hard to come by and come with many restrictions, it may be better considering a business loan or if the startup cost is low finding another method (e.g. hit the credit card but only do this if your business plan indicates you can pay it back)

Grants may be hard to come by but if you can get them the time involved is worth it. I've just had my first grant payment paid into the bank this morning (from start to finish it's taken 3.5 months), and I'm expecting another payment within the next couple of weeks. So look around and ring your Council.

The website is the hardest bit that I've found to do! The printing of business cards and leaflets was fine, but getting the website anywhere near looking professional is hard. So if anyone wants to help you accept their offer quickly!

mr site would be ideal, packages start at just £14.99 so if it doesn't work out it didn't cost a fortune. There are a lot of craft websites built with mr site so probably ideal.
You can get it at £14.99 from amazon or direct from mr site. If you visit zazzygifts you can follow the link that gives you from £5 - £15 off mr site.
  • i have a range of adult shops and they costs me £300 each, all bilt in zen cart but are customized to me. If you can use some deign software and have a bit of web deisign try zen cart for yourself, if not get someone to do it for you. It really is amazing software and the company that did mine made it look exactly like i want it!!

have you thought about selling on eBay or doing parties? Have a few leaflets made and people could host parties for you with your products, just pay them a comission. I do it with my adult stuff.

Could you sell at bootsales? I sell giftware at bootsales and it works very well and on eBay to.

    Good luck!!

www.etsy.com is a website that works a bit like ebay (but not auction) and enables craftspeople from all over the world to set up an onlne shop within it.
It gets a lot of publicity now too so you should get plenty of web footfall.
