Downstairs toilet in a typical terrace house, needed?

I bet that no-one who has lived in a house with a downstairs loo, would willingly move to one that does not have a downstairs loo. I certainly would not buy a house without a downstairs loo, or space to install one. Even if, as with us, there are only two of us.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
No, I grew up in a house with a downstairs loo but always used the one upstairs and I think downstairs loos are pointless in small houses (ours was a big house so not pointless, but I still didn't like using it).
In a small house I'd rather have a bigger kitchen, or bigger hallway.0 -
We have been considering whether to keep our downstairs loo or get rid of it completely to make the kitchen a bit bigger. I was originally all for getting rid of it but having had it out of use for a couple of weeks I now don't want to be without it!
If you've got kids it's really handy. If you're on your own then I guess the only reason to keep it is to avoid visitors (including builders etc) having to go upstairs.
And apologies to dander - we have a 4 bed house with three bathrooms and one downstairs toilet!0
