they take the caliper off and cable tie it out of the way, but when they put it back on it sounds like they have turned the caliper and the flexi hose isnt straight but now twisted and rubbing0

It would be a pointless thing to do.
See the second half of my sentence.you can charge more money than you could have for a disc and pad change maybe.
I completely agree though, pointless0 -
Long time ago when i worked at a car dealership we had a car in for service.
customer collected car and drove off - subsequently they got home and found one wheel being held on by only one nut! three were missing.
in the course of our enquiries it turns out her father was a judge.
it also further turned out that the dealership had to accept her existing car and give her a brand new one in order to keep the matters out of court.
Who would have won I don't know - but the bigwigs at this VERY well known German brand car dealership made a VERY sharp decision to give the client what she wanted.0 -

I also knew another guy, never had a fight in his life, got drunk one night and took a swing at another lad in the pub, managed to break the other lads jaw.
bearing in mind he was only 17 years old and it was his first offence.........he got sent down for 18 months.
other lads father was also a judge.
now obviously it was a nasty thing that happened and im not saying he should have got off scott free but I have known of alot more serious crimes since that haven't even ended up in court, let alone a custodial sentence!
There are definately people moving in bigger circles than us making these kind of decisions.0
