Hi, I used to have a network set up so I could transfer files between laptop and main PC and this worked great, but a little while ago I got a new main PC. I cannot remember what I set up when I got the new PC but now that I wanted to do some transferring of files, I find that my main PC with Vista which is cabled to the router can see my wireless laptop files, files and folders which I set to share on the laptop from long ago but my laptop with XP cannot access the main PC's folders.
I have set my folders on my main PC to share with full access for everyone, but when then when I am on the laptop and select the "laptops My Documents" from the main PC to look at, I get that message "***** is not accessible. You may not have permission to use this network resource etc". Now I am not an expert but it was not that difficult to figure out in the past so what is wrong this time? Am I doing something wrong because Vista is involved with XP in this case?
I know I can use the main PC to take or put stuff on the laptop but I would like to also access the main PC from the laptop.
I have set C drive and my documents to be available/share on main PC and laptop and this worked well when I only had XP on both but now it doesn't, what am I doing wrong or missing ?
Any advice appreciated.
