Towel Radiator and Mixer Shower Advice

I am having bathroom refitted and trying to source items myself and save a few pounds.

I need a towel radiator and want quite a tall one. I have been told some sit so close to wall that you cannot actually fit towels on very well. Can anyone recommend theirs to me ?

Also need a mixer shower. I have seen a Mira one in B&Q (Mira Atom) which has a fixed head and a separate hand-held one. It is £259. Any ideas how to find this for less - or if B&Q are having another 15% off day ? If you have a similar shower which you can recommend then please could you post details ?

Many thanks for your help.

Do your self a favour, go to a proper plumbers merchant. They are often as cheap as B&Q and they will give you good advice. A reputable tradesman will tell you where he sources his materials and you should be able to get his trade discount.
IMHO cheapo bathroom fittings are false ecconomy, get the best you can afford. They should last you a lifetime.

You might like to consider the curved shaped towel rail, I bought mine from screwfix direct.

  • Every time I go into B&Q for convenience I find I could of bought whatever I want cheaper at an independent merchant .Don’t be fooled by B&Qs stack it high and sell it cheap appearance. Its stack it high and charge top whack from my experience. I use them for convenience because they have put nearly all the smaller DIY outlets out of business and there is no where else to buy but I know they are charging me top whack for nearly everything I purchase.

I am checking out local plumbing suppliers for Towel Radiator thanks.

My problem is the shower i want is produced by Mira for B&Q so may have no choice but to buy there which is why i wondered if they are doing another 15% weekend.

    Thanks

I had my bathroom re-done in May this year and bought a few bits from B&Q including tiles, blind, lights, extractor fan and taps. I may as well have not bothered. My brother's an electrician and he didn't like the lights or extractor fan I'd bought. Back they went and he went to an independant trader to buy exactly what he wanted to install. My plumber didn't like the taps so back they went as well and we ended up getting some from the Bath Store.

I can't say these items were any cheaper than B&Q but the quality's just as good, (if not better), and my brother and plumber were happy!

The shower that you're talking about, I'm sure there's one just like that in the Bath Store. Might worth checking out. They also have a tall towel rail in there, which I had my eye on until my plumber talked me out of it (for logistical reasons )...
It's wouldn't have not wouldn't of, shouldn't have not shouldn't of and couldn't have not couldn't of. Geddit?
