If it's Windows Operating System, right click on the desktop, click on the right hand (settings) tab then slide the resolution slider until it shows the resloution of your screen hardware. The press OK. It will probably give you a preview of the new resolution before you accept the new setting.
If you don't know the resolution of your screen, just keep trying different values until you find one that works.
If you still can't get it back the way it was that probably means that you need to find and load the screen driver software. It should be on disc (?drivers disc) that came with the machine. Or you could find it on the net, but you will need detailed knowledge about your screen (maybe from the computer sales literature).0 -
is that in the control panel???0

no, just right click on a empty space on the desktop.
Sorry I missed out a stage. Right click on the desktop, select "properties", then select the settings tab and continue as above.0 -
Start > Control Panel > Display > Settings > Drag the wee bar as far right as it will go. If it doesnt move, then you need to install the drivers for your graphics card. Most people have their resolution set around 1280x10240
