I used to have this problem, i use head and shoulders - for greasy hair and only wash my hair every other day now.
i also use no heated styling things (hair dryer and straighteners) and found my hair takes longer to get greasy. also i always time to wash my hair after a big workout/exercise, that way the sweat isnt contributing to the grease!
also i dye my hair occassionally, only semi-permanent, and find this really helps stop my hair gettin greasy! hope this helps!0 -
thanks, i also dye my hair with a permanent colour every 6 weeks or so, but i have to use a hairdryer and straightners most of the time because my hair is awful if i don't style itwins so far:- absolutely nothing, not even an arguement:mad:0

My daughter has the same problem & I buy her L'Oreal Elvive Nutri-Gloss Light shampoo for greasy hair - she washes her hair every other day & it seems to work for her.

PS. I buy it in Tesco - approx £3 something.0 -
Your Hair sounds exactly like mine, and I do the same, blow-dry/straighten daily and colour regularly.
I have found some good shampoo and conditioner for Greasy hair, but nothing that will stop it going greasey by the end of the day.
I agree with the Elvive Nutri-Gloss Light.... it's brilliant, my hair is so shiny and soft for the whole day after using it, and makes it easy to style as it doesn't weigh my hair down.
I'm trying some at the moment from Lush which has Seaweed and fruit extracts in. I was recommended to try Seaweed as it apparently works very very well on greasy hair. I'll let you know how it goes (I've only started using it yesterday.):starmod: :starmod: :starmod: "Live like you mean it, Love 'til you feel it" :starmod: :starmod: :starmod:- The Goo Goo Dolls0 -
thanks sweetserendipity thats the shampoo i've been using for a while now but my hair is still the same, it's the only one i can find for greasy hair, where has all the greasy hair shampoo gone, at one time there were loads but now it's just normal, coloured, straight or curly or whatever elsewins so far:- absolutely nothing, not even an arguement:mad:0

I don't think you necessarily need to look for ones that are specifically marketed for Greasy hair... just light ones, that don't over moisturise your hair. And change regularly.... your hair can get too used to one shampoo/conditioner quite quickley.
Avoid Fructis.... I hated it on my hair, made it feel greasy straight from washing.
I like the John Frieda ones also - Sheer Blonde and Brilliant Brunette. (whichever suits your hair colour at the time) I've not tried the one for red hair but I would imagine it's pretty similar.
Pantenne Ice shine is good too.:starmod: :starmod: :starmod: "Live like you mean it, Love 'til you feel it" :starmod: :starmod: :starmod:- The Goo Goo Dolls0 -
thanks for the advice alr, i will have a look around, i was using pantene but it just made it worse, and yes fructis was awful as wellwins so far:- absolutely nothing, not even an arguement:mad:0

Also worth trying is the Elvive anti-dandruff shampoo (even if you don't have dandruff!) for greasy hair in a blue and green bottle
