I have just had a fairly non-committal response from the NACC (Crohns and Colitis Association). Worryingly, they don't plan to inform their members about the proposals in the DoH Consultation Paper until the winter edition of their newsletter, by which time the consultation period will have ended.

    Dear zzzLazyDaisy

Thank you for bringing the DoH consultation paper ‘Shaping the Future of Care Together’ to our attention.

Helen Terry, Director of Information and Support, is aware of this issue and will be responding to this consultation.

Members will be informed of this paper, and NACC’s response, in the Winter edition of NACC News.

    Kind regards,

    Elina Bloomfield

i have had similar reply from MIND and RE think .... although it may sounds great on paper i am woried about the delivery as it will be administer by pen pusher and how to tick box and if your need cannot be met by filling a box then well you are stuffed .

What is shocking is the naivety and complacency from charity .... DLA and AA gave too many disabled some independence into their care.

I agree. These proposals are very scary.

  • Not impressed with the reply I have had from the Joint Epilepsy Council...........

    Thank you for your enquiry.

The Green Paper does not propose benefits being taken off anyone who
gets them now - they are looking at integrating and means testing
    benefits in the future.

We are discussing the Green Paper with colleagues in the Joint Epilepsy
Council (JEC). JEC will be submitting a response to the consultation.

We have had similar comments from other supporters of NSE and we will be
    submitting our own evidence.

Have people emailed their MP's today? I sent...
Can you please tell me what you intend to do regarding the green paper being pushed through to abolish AA/DLA to individuals, and instead to place it into the hands of local authorities. Disabilities and needs are very individual and the person in receipt of said benefits is best placed to decide how they should be spent for their needs.

I look forward to a fast response as this issue is being pushed through in November.

    Yours sincerely,

I have prepared a fairly long email to send to my MP. I am going to get my husband to look over it when he gets in from work before I send it though, as I'm not too brilliant at the putting-the-words-together-and-making-sense thing.:o

My MP is next on my list. I am also going to ask her if she intends to vote against these proposals. I will also tell her that if the answer is no, she will lose my vote at the next election (I have a labour MP)

I also intend to write to the leaders of the opposition parties asking what their position is on this issue.

I got my response today, and my LABOUR MP supports it going through. He claims the need is due to benefit fraud:mad: DON'T VOTE LABOUR, spread it through the forums and to your neighbours. LABOUR IS KILLING BRITAIN.
