    The surplus was sent electronically into my bank account as part of the completion process and I had it within minutes of it being received from our purchasers.

    In fact it took less time to reach me than the rest of the money took to reach our sellers solicitor. Most frustrating to know that the money was stuck in transit so we couldn't get hold of the keys!

    we completed yesterday, i took your advice and asked if we could pay and get the money instantly, it cost about £40 and the money was in our account within a couple of hours, well worth it as the solicitor was going to send a cheque only found that out when we phoned him and asked, didn't fancy my cheque getting lost in the post
