My friends paypal account has been hacked and she had just bought some items on ebay. I have the item numbers but it won't let me pay for them for her using my account.
How do I do it?

Log in to Paypal, click on 'Send Money' click 'Ebay Items' and add the item number, that should work. You might need the seller's Paypal email address..0

Actually, OP get her to sign you in to her eBay account. Pay with Paypal as normal but enter your own Paypal address and password where it asks for it in the checkout process. That might do it.0

That won't work else all the scammers out there will be looking for the bargain auctions won and simply sending off the payment in the hope of getting that bargain for themselves.Log in to Paypal, click on 'Send Money' click 'Ebay Items' and add the item number, that should work. You can do it like that, I've done it before. You do need the sellers paypal email address though.:j30/7/10:j

They are right you do need the email address, having said that it isn't the best scam in the world sending a random stranger cash:rolleyes: You wouldn't last loong in Nigeria with that plan. That won't work else all the scammers out there will be looking for the bargain auctions won and simply sending off the payment in the hope of getting that bargain for themselves..0 -

I have a number of sellers paypal addresses - infact everyone I've ever bought off or sold to using paypal.
If the item doesn't get delivered, then simply file an item not received claim on paypal; it's guaranteed as its an ebay transaction

The buyer can use whatever paypal account they want to pay, it is only the seller that has their paypal account linked. The buyer clicks on pay now and is then asked to log into paypal to pay, he emrely then asks his friend to log into their paypal account and uses that. Simple.

I've just tried to send money for an ebay item, and my paypal account only lists the items I've actually won. I don't seem to be able to send payment to someone for an ebay item unless I've won it.

I can send someone money, of course, but it's not associated with the ebay item then."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Yes, you can do it that way, but that requires access to the winning ebay account. (as NotQuiteNorbert suggested earlier)
My point was about just sending money from a non-associated paypal account and trying to buy an ebay item that perhaps you haven't actually won.
Edit: You can also associate ebay accounts through paypal, but you still need the ebay id and password of the account that won the item. Without this you cannot pay for ebay items not won."Now to trolling as a concept. ....
