Remove the Live button from my phone

I just got a new Vodafone branded Sony Ericsson w595 - on the home screen one of the buttons when pressed connects you to the internet. I want to change this to something like contacts so if I accendently press it i'm not connected to the internet and being charged. I cannot seem to find a way to change it. Does anyone know how to do this?

It is another way of Vodafone getting money off you by you accidently pressing it and not realising!

I rang up and asked the same question for a phone I had that did the same as I kept accidentally doing. Apparently I should be more careful...I just deleted all settings so it couldn't connect as I never used the internet on my phone.

If there is a way to get round it, (surprisingly) the customer service people don't tell you.

3 are up to the same tricks!

Got a new C903 and i was having a bit of a play with the features, it's got GPS and googlemaps etc.... But what I didn't realise was that when I tried them I got charged for internet use without any warning whatsoever :(
It also has games installed, but these were set up as "pay per play" via internet.... and guess what? no warning at all!!! so the first time I tried the games, I got charged! (it does at least warn me now for some reason).
On my old phone I got ebay for free, but im frightened to try it on this new one even though my contract hasnt changed!

Well, to ultimately get rid of all the Vodafone cr*p, you will have to de-brand the phone, which involves flashing it with a different firmware. Your 'friendly' market phone trader should do this for you, if he is any good...

To simply change the hotkey is, unfortunately, not possible. Although, I did find this advice from the Vodafone forums:
In relation to your new phone, from what I can see it looks like a nice piece of kit however, as far as the hot keys go, I cant see any way to actually change or disable these, If you don’t use the internet you could delete the internet profiles or change them to connect via the PAYT portal so that it won’t connect.

Even though you are connecting to Vodafone Live the Home screen is free of charge so you don’t need to worry about that.
