Can anyone give me some advice about why IE keeps asking me which program to use to open sites--this one and ebay??
I tick the box to use this program always but it still comes up! what do i need to check? i've obviously set something wrong!

Sounds like a mime-type issue. Mime-types help browsers identify what type of content is being returned, a bit like file associations. Somethings got confused in your case
Have you recently installed anything?
Are you running any anti-virus products? Firewall?

 Thanks for that. It's been driving me nuts! I had done a spring clean and got shot of a lot of unused stuff.
Then weird stuff happened -lost passwords and more. So I restored to a checkpoint and it got worse-eventually I was only having this problem which is now ok after web resetting .
I did notice that when you use system restore that it renames some files -could this have been part of the problem?
Anyway--all better now! :T0
