If Standard Life gets the 75%+ Yes vote for demutualisation, do you think it could lead to further demutualisation within the Life Insurance and Building Societies?

There's a quick answer to that.
No.
Standard Life's reasons are unique and of their own making.
There may be insurance sector consolidation in the future, but the bigger building societies are doing OK and there's no strong reason to link events in the insurance sector to the situation in savings 'n loans.0
