hand baggage query

Ok very green traveller here.
I Understand that my liquids have to be less than 100ml in my hand baggage and in a plastic bag. However I am understanding it that I am allowed to take more than one liquid E.G. handwash and mascara and deodorant, as long as each measures less than 100ml. Could someone clarify this for me as I don't wish to lose all my mini essentials at the airport. Ta :j

    Correct. I often take 3 100ml bottles/tubes with me.

Also note for example 200ml containers half full will be confiscated if they see them.

Thanks for a prompt reply!! I am making sure everything is marked well under 100ml.

100ml is fine. I had a brand new 120ml shaving gel confiscated a few week ago.

Also to make life easy don't wear boots or a belt (you may need to take them off depending on the airport).

Max volume of liquids/gels is 1000ml.

Any of that can go in a checked-in suitcase (in the aircraft hold).

Water/drinks cannot go in your hand luggage unless you buy it AFTER going though airport security. Sweets and snacks in your hand luggage are fine. Nappies and wipes in handluggages and/or suitcase. Remeber food is expensive (and generally poor quality) in the airports and on the planes.

OK. As I started this thread I just thought I would report that I am back from a lovely holiday. However having been very good about all the hand luggage restrictions for myself and the girls (We dutifully went through with our bags and 100ml or less bottles) my husband threw his 200ml hair gel into a plastic bag and told me not to make such a fuss!! Nobody said a thing and he sailed through! Where is the justice in that! I nearly confiscated it for him!

you can only take a certain amount of liquids/gels/powders in your handluggage before security, but once through security you can buy any size and amount of items at Boots there, (ryanair for example will only let you carry this in your hand luggage bag, other airlines may let you take an extra carrier bag with no probs)

Guess it all comes down to luck. My friend had a 120 ml moisteriser confiscated - she was pretty annoyed as it was expensive and you can only buy it in some shop in her home town in Italy. A few times I've walked through with a bottle of water in my bag with no problems (simply through forgetting to throw it away). Another time I had a 100 mL moisteriser confiscated in Madrid because I didn't have a plastic bag to put it in and they weren't giving them out at the airport. That is one example of a pointless reinforcement of the regulations if you ask me!

We travel a lot with our son and whatever you do; only bring nappies & wipes for the flight and the first 24 hours, You'll find the same Pampers, Huggies & all the other brands in Spain. Don't carry all that extra weight. Travel light and enjoy the family time away. It's a holiday.
