I'll admit to surfing RightMove looking at houses when I've got a spare 5 minutes (or hour), but I am not buying.
I was thinking of starting a thread: "Where should I move to, to look for work, to buy a house at some future point", but then I realised .. nobody'd know.
I do envy those who have an area/roots etc already so they know where they want/need to be.0 -

I'm by no means a bull on house prices but I fixed your post for youWhat goes around - comes around0 -

I feel your pain. I'm sorely tempted by a deal here at 2.75%, with a 5.5% cap but, to buy a house here is an implicit acceptance that we're here for the long run and I'm not sure I'm ready for that.

Where are your family based?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
I'm settled and where I want to be for the next 25+ yrs of my life so I'm looking but very little is coming on the market and still not dropped to realistic prices. So I'll continue to rent. If my dream house comes up and they accept a reasonable offer then I'll buy!
The house I came closest to buying has finally sold 15 months later. The price has just appeared on ourproperty. Its £60,000 less than I'd offered  Quite glad that didn't go through :rotfl:Looking for the perfect home and saving to make becoming a MFW easier

I understand that.
We were narrowing down on area to be between London and my parents...but now they say they want to come with us it may open a bit more flexibilty, which sounds easier but makes it harder.0 -

.
Considering one of the poster I saw was saying on this site they were looking at a house but it was more than they wanted to pay at the moment. They then posted on the buying side that prices were going to go down in an area for the next 1-2 years without question!
Just smacked a bit hypocritical.
How can any of us say we are offering sound advice? (we do not know the people posting.)
Going back to the the "no one knows we are here because we moved" but these are users who had used this perticular board.
Also you have to log on to post.
