    You bought !!, traitor.:D

Err...yes, your honour. But I did get a very good discount on peak prices, due to the vendor's circumstances and, as I said elsewhere, I was subject to a gazump attack too, so I have a feeling it was not too bad a deal.

Can you take my age and good behaviour into account?:D

I'm the only person I know who visits fora. Of course 'we' cannot make a difference.

EA's in Hertford are saying there's 5 buyers for every property and the market has 'definitely' bounced off bottom for good. Same guys last year were honest about the dire market, so I see no reason to doubt now. No graphs, sorry, just real world coal face feedback.

We can't change any markets, anymore than some EA's in Hertford claiming we've seen the bottom can. It is interesting how quickly the recovery seems to be happening. It seems to be based on selling a few cars and houses, a bounce based on desperate to earn interest money in the stock markets. and us doing quite well in the Ashes.

I suspect it almost certainly means we are in for a double dip recession.

Oh gosh, yes. I'll PM you about the strange final moments of our purchase.
    .....And ask about sheep fencing.

(No, the rest of you, that's not sheep with swords....)

I popped on to the selling, purchasing and renting section this afternoon as it was quiet here.

I was amazed to see how many bears who post or posted on here post on there now.

Most don't seem to be buying but just trying to stop others buying. (but are they thinking of entering the market?)

So my question do people actually think they can change the market?
I personally say "no we can't" as people will do what suits them, any thoughts.

Someone has probably already said, but maybe it’s because a lot of people think this section has been removed, as you have to be logged in to view it.

I'd second this, the cuts in the bank base rates have almost halted the crash in it's tracks, unfortunately/fortunately, this will last until the election. People who keep there jobs can manage along with the debt burden while rates are low, most falling off deals now are much better off just staying on the SVR, it's obviously not going to last though.

What makes it worse is people are being hoodwinked into taking on massive debts with very low IR's at the moment, they also aren't feeling the recession because the government is keeping the fairytale going with borrowed money. A much clearer position will be seen in 18-24 months time, when we will be in the second dip, the problem this time though is there will be no borrowed money charade, in fact the double whammy is we will be paying back this stimulus at the same time.

And that, Mr. ad9898, is where MSE could be helping the people who are currently looking at buying stuff, taking out credit, looking at scrappage scheme, etc. - by sounding a very serious note of caution.

    Something like...

MSE Golden Rule no. 1. Make sure you have six months worth of money in the bank. Do not spend money until you have this cover in place.

No. 2. Do not borrow more than 3.5 times income. If joint, make sure a single earner could cover mortgage repayments.

Someone else can do the other rules.

Assuming you could draft a set of ten commandmants - it should be part of the log in process. You click to say you have read it.

No need for the Arms of course, they can just have a picture of a pizza.

Is it people stopping others buying, or people giving sound advice in very uncertain times?

There's a whole generation that don't comprehend the past 10 years and the credit crash. As only read a few online articles not serious journalism.

Only an outright bull would suggest without hesitation now is the time to buy with a small deposit at an expensive rate of interest.
