Web links to product welcome.

I am looking to purchase this from Argos as i know they give a good customer service & if there is any problem with the product I can easily return it for a refund or replacement. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6757766/Trail/searchtext%3ENETGEAR.htm

I am willing to consider other shops that offer it cheaper but with good customer service. Also which product has a good helpline for their router. I have heard that some routers have very poor helplines....

thanks

Apple, Belkin, and Trendnet make the most reliable routers apparently.

As the article notes, all routers are generally pretty reliable, and I don't think you'd have any problems returning one to Argos if it wasn't working properly.

If you are looking for the "best" then you need to at least review DrayTek: http://www.draytek.co.uk/products/awards.html

Or use a router recommended by your broadband service who can support you...

Ask your ISP for one, they are free! Got a few here already...
  • If I buy one brand and it does well, I will but that brand again.

I bought the buffallo brand which served me well and actively sought out another buffalo router despite it being not as popular as netgear etc. Both work fine.

I bought mine from argos for the reason that I could return it is broke. I think I had a one year return thing. The biggest issue is getting it to work, routers generally do'nt break down IMO

Ebuyer are pretty good. I too recommend Buffalo as a brand.
I can't post the link to it because I'm new  but its item number 97222 from ebuyer.com

If you're just after a simple, reliable and secure router then the Netgear WGR614 is a good punt. To be honest, you shouldn't need a helpline because there's only about half a dozen settings that need changing for them to work as intended.

Amazon are usually a good bet, never had a bad purchase from them that hasn't been rectified straight away.

I've had 2 netgear routers fail on me and one 3 com, not tried the other brands. Personally I tend to go for 'upright' type rather than 'flat' ones as they tend to be less prone to getting hot/overheating.
