Any experience/owners of Pixie Bobs?

Hi there

We are considering getting a couple of pixie bob kittens and wondered if anyone had any experience of the breed? We have a Maine Coon and love big cats...

Would love to hear from you!

Thanks

I have to confess I'd never even heard of them before. I looked them up though, interesting cats :-)

Big cats are pretty special, I like them too, being mum to an unproven but very breed typical Norwegian Forest cat.
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

Awww....we looked at those too! We could end up with loads of cats if we're not careful!

If you want a clever cat who remembers what it learns, asks for what it needs (even things it doesn't much like!) and loves to please it's people then a NFC is the one.

In fact, if you want a cat who thinks it is a collie dog..... :D

You could absolutely be describing my younger Maine Coon as well there - quite similar breeds and definitely thinks she is a dog, down to playing fetch which really confuses visitors!!!

    Aren't they amazing?

When I take my little girl cat out for a walk on her harness and lead my NFC boy is straight to the door when I call "walkies". He astounds my neighbours (and me) by coming when called; obeying "fetch" when I send him to bring Daisy out from whichever bush she has got herself lost under (he shepherds her out) and he always gets between her and anything he thinks may be a potential threat. He also loves a game of chase or football.

Strange thing is he only ever obeys commands when I have a leash in my hand and we are outside (or on our way out). I didn't teach him any of these things, he just does them

Oh how fantastic! They are such lovely, lovely cats, just don't forget to buy/make stuff for them in extra, extra large size, and get a dog flap instead of a cat flap if you are considering one :rotfl:

Have they just been born? Do you know anything about them yet? Is it too soon to hope for piccies? ;)

2 NFCs and a Maine Coon, Lol, you really do like big cats, I'm so jealous I'd love an MC or NFC kitten :D
