 I decided to put this on my face to clear up acne scars - instead I got a lovely bout of more acne and terrible blackheads - it totally clogged up my pores.

I agree re Nivea - it's probably the best cheap moisturiser you can buy.

Did you use a lot of Bio Oil? I find you only need a tiny amount - almost like a 'dry oil' - it really does go far. I found it gave my face a nice 'glow' to it.

Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.

I really like Superdrug's Vitamin E range - it is so cheap, and has an SPF15.

Although at the moment I am using two creams from Amphora - Frankincense & Rose face cream for the day, and Vitamin E & Wheatgerm at night.

I buy them directly from their shop, but you can get them online - Amazon is cheapest:

  • Take your empty pot to John Lewis and get a sample of Elemis. Should last about a month.

Hope there is one near you.

I really like this one http://www.johnsonsbeauty.co.uk/productPage.aspx?product=49

I used to use a no7 one that cost quite a bit, didn't want to have to spend it so went for this one and it's lovely, soaks in really well so you can put it on about ten mins before make up with no slippage.

Only problem with it is that it doesn't have any sun protection (not that we need much of that at the minute!)

Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it... :o
  • Thanks for the advice everyone...Nivea seems to be the favorite, so i think i'll try that.

That free sample looks good, but i live in Scotland, and my store isn't participating in the event. And to be honest i can't deal with John Lewis at the moment...i had to do a HUGE project (Graded Unit) for college about John Lewis and should they be aiming at tourists (we had to pick our own subject)
And after spending a whole year working on it, and being in there interviewing people...i can't go near the place!!!

I love Nivea but can't use it on my face as it makes my eyes stream, even have to wash my hands after using it as even a tiny bit will set them off.

I use Bio oil, basically the residue that's left on my hands after applying it elsewhere. I have very dry skin and have seen a definite improvement. My 20 yr-old DD uses it too and says it makes her skin look nice and "glowy".
"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.

Natural VIT E oil from Holland and Barretts - lasts forever. A few drops at night - even the driest skin is moisturised

Have you tried Nivea Soft? it's much less scented that the normal Nivea (which makes me feel sick).

I started using the Derma Intensive Q10 range in Tesco. The price has just gone up to about £2.75 but it is really nice and it has an spf factor in it aswell. I used to use Nivea Q10 and still do sometimes when I have the cash otherwise this range is great. They do a slightly more expensive range aswell, on a par with Nivea etc at about £6 or £7 per item so sometimes I get the cheap moisturisers for day and night then get the more expensive eye creams. Still works out cheaper!! :j
