I think that box (and probably other Freeview PVRs) record the bitstream as it is transmitted. You probably require one that doesn't have Freeview but records from the existing analogue transmissions.
Something like this.0 -
The 9200 has twin freeview tuners so all it needs is a regular TV aerial input. I don't think it will work with your ntl box but you can try Humax support who might be able to give you more info.

I just got a Pioneer DVR530HS - Dvd-R/Dvd-Rw Recorder Built-In 160gb Hdd for my parents who connect is to terrestrial aerial and sky freesat, it downloads 7-14 days tv epg, you choose your channels and away you go just like sky+ / tivo / mce with no monthly bills
at setup you choose your inputs (terrestrial/freesat/sky/cable-ntl etc)
I think I paid £280, they r v happy
DVD Recorder with buit-in 160gb harddisc capable of recording up to 455 hours. Multi format playback.Easy to install, with one touch record and copy facilities it couldnt be simpler.
The electronic programme guide using EPG "Guide Plus+" technology, exactly like freeview/sky programme info, allows you to see whats on up to 7 days in advance, and then set the HDD/DVD to record at the touch of a button

Hi
I have the Topfield pvr, which is very similiar to the Humax pvrs, so if you need to know anything about pvrs, just go to the Toppy forum and either post or read the threads.
