Has anyone brought anything from Tier 1 online before? I have seen a IBM Laptop on there then would suit me down to the ground but just wondered what they are like for delivery times, etc.0

This was the one I was looking at, we mainly use laptop for internet, email, CD/DVD drive, pictures and games so nothing too heavy. We had an Amilo Pro which has just died a death.0 -
@debt12, yes I used Tier1 a couple of years ago for a T42. Happy with the purchase and I made use of the Lenovo warranty to obtain some install disks since a complete rebuild may not be easy without them. Do not expect any tech support from Tier 1.0

This computer would not be as good as a more expensive computer.0

Well that's my point, which I confess I made with a little bit of irritation since every time someone puts up a messsage about a cheap laptop, someone will come along saying that people shouldn't buy the cheap laptop but they should buy another costing £100 more with added ZX4000 cool sledge common rail technology, added capsicum and twin core anti-submarining system. At the end of the day the cheap computers we buy now do everything that expensive computers did three years ago and are cheaper than they were, and people will only break them or get them stolen anyway, especially if they buy them for children who will mostly use them for illegal purposes anyway.
People should buy cheap computers rather than expensive ones every time.0 -
Brand new Toshiba laptop in Morrisons yesterday, £299, 160 gig hard drive, 2 gig ram, Vista, not sure of the other specs, only noticed as I passed,
I'm seriously thinking of getting it for my little boy
That's what I mean. A little boy doesn't need a computer costing £300, especially if his mum's in arrears with utility bills.0
