The big BT connection scam!

Having just moved home i need to be connected to a BT landline. I applied for a line online. Someone rang me the next day to say.. 'we will connect you for £122.50! I was shocked. the previous owners had just moved out and they had had a phone line. I checked out MSE and lo and behold there was my answer. 'Challenge the charge'. I did so and guess what? The young man said no you dont have to pay it.. you've been on Martin's website havent you? I shamed him into admitting that his bosses said only to tell people they didnt have to pay if they asked!!! He said Martin had challenged the offer which was originally for people transferring from cable to BT.
I just saved myself a fortune but oh no... the letters started arriving from BT. I would have to pay a higher calling plan charge as I had been 'let off' my connection fee (oh by the way the engineer called me and said there was no connecting work to be done anyway). I rang BT again and they said no I didnt have to pay a higher calling plan fee... it was a mistake. Then a letter arrived saying I had to pay the £122.50 and would get it back on a future bill!!! Then another letter arrived saying again as i had been let off the connection charge i would have to make chargeable calls each month amounting to a considerable amount of money or i would have to still pay it...
i got distressed and fed up and am now writing to the ombudsman. Martin if you read this... help!:money::money::money:

Hi icandothis,
Sorry to hear of the problems your having regarding the connection charge. Can you PM your telephone number to me and I will look into what is happening on your account with the connection charge.
