MBNA: PPI Loan

Hi,

I have sent an email to MBNA re an old loan of mine, which I settled in 2005. The basis for my claim being that it was a single premium policy and my loan was paid off early.

I read somewhere that the FOS has been in discussion with MBNA re loans pre-2005 and whether claims can be upheld.

Just wondering if anyone has heard more on this or have been successful claiming on pre-2005 loans.

Thanks!

    Thanks, di.

Do you mean the large success thread?

Looks like MBNA has proven to be difficult in many cases

But, I am in for the long haul!

    Hi there.

Yes that's the one, it is a very long thread though lol.

I think there have been much success in regards of the MBNA, but like any other bank, they can also make things more difficult, but I'm sure you have a good case and will get through this, all the best and please keep us posted, cheers.;)

Thanks and will certainly let you know.

Received a bizarre letter today from them saying that they had now closed my loan account and cancelled my direct debit. This was wierd as the loan was paid off in 2005!

So, I called and asked why. They said it was because they had re-opened my file to investigate my complaint and that it was standard prodedure to write when they closed it again.

The woman said they would be writing to me in a few days re my complaint so fingers crossed!

Classic case of single premium policy but you just never know, do you?

    Hi hun

When you complain, and the loan was settled prior to this, they do then have to reopen to check all the details of this in order to investigate, so your right there, so not to worry about that.;)

I will keep my fingers crossed for you, and in regards of these single premium policies that is a complaint alone. So you should be okay, and if the business do not resolve this, then the chances are the FOS will.
    Good luck.;)
