Laptop issue - back to Currys or Dell/

BBB
I bought a laptop from Currys last November, Dell Inspiron 1525 and getting "blue screen of death" google suggests a memory issue and I need to obviously send it back but would it best to send directly to Dell or do it through Currys? Would there be any chance at all of a direct replacement there and then?

You can book it in to your nearest currys store for repair. Dell have complete control on the repairs for these, so you can either phone them up and feel like head-desking as they ask you to reinstall windows and then run a full diagnostic, or take it into the store and let them do it.
No chance of a replacement though.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Excellent, I did email Dell and they sent me all sorts of checks to do which I simply refuse to do! How long do you think it will take? (judging by your signature):beer:0

with a blue screen it could be a software issue and not a fault with the laptop.
Have you tried anything yet?
When exactly does it blue screen? at boot or after boot.0 -
Yesterday I booked in a Dell laptop with a power problem. Was on the phone for about half an hour, most of it on hold. Running a full diagnostic takes about an hour.
If you take it into Currys, not only will they have to do all that with Dell (though depending how nice/knowledgeable they are, they may want you to do that first to prove it's not a software issue), but you also get the knowledge that if it's not repaired within 28days, they'll give you a new one - but Dell, once you've got through the initial booking, are pretty quick.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. It does it after boot, I formatted the laptop last week after it kept doing it and re-installed all the drivers but still keeps doing it.
Equi, excellent will take it in tomorrow and hope for the best!:beer:0
