Photo print to framed canvas...

I'm asking on behalf of someone else.

Looking for a photo printing service onto large framed canvas - about 2 foot wide.

The image will be from a DSLR so up to scratch for this amount of enlargement.

I don't have a problem finding this service as there are loads show up with a search I want recommendations from anybody who has had such a canvas printed for them and is pleased with the product.

There are some very different quality products out there, if you just use a standard online lab (jessops, photobox etc) the image will be fine, and all much of a muchness, but if you are looking for top end photographic quality, then you need to look at a quality (and therefore expensive) printer such as LoxleyColour (http://www.loxleycolour.com/default.aspx?sid=5&ssid=43) or any of the other good photographic printers in the UK, however it's not a money-saving tip! You'd have to contact them for pricing, as they only deal with pro-photographers on account.

Haven't got one myself but have seen a couple from the Kodak shops, they seem quite good to me and apparently the shops have samples for you to look at?

  • I used this firm, mainly because they give a 25% discount to costco members (go to the costco website for more info)

http://www.catchincolour.co.uk/ (looks like their website is down at the minute)

The quality was excellent and it was delivered free by FedEx. My picture was also from a dSLR and the results looked like it was a painting, not a photo. Good resolution and nice colours.

I got one of ebay from a company called KD prints. A 5mp image went to A3 canvas spot on :)

I have ordered several from lex designs who sell on ebay over the past couple of years, they are really cheap (It was £30 delivered for 75cm x 55cm). They were based in Cornwall and their email was lexdezigns@btinternet.com, they were pretty good, no idea if they're still going or not.
