How much to charge for postage?

Hey everyone,

How do you get the amount that you are going to charge for the item that you have listed? Do you go to the post office and check or do you guess?

Thanks,
Ben

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

weigh it on some kitchen scales, measure the box /envelope I'm posting it in and then follow the link above
  • Definitely don't try and guess. You'll either end up losing money because you've underestimated it, or you could charge way too much and be marked down on your sellers ratings.

As already said, get yourself some decent kitchen scales and weigh the item, with the packaging. Then use the Royal Mail web site to find out the price. Finally, maybe add a small amount for the cost of your packaging, but don't overdo it. Just read some threads on here where buyers have complained about being over charged for postage.
