  • Morning ladies :D

    Jazabelle - Beautiful cards

Alyssa - Love your card and box!

Rainmac - How are your boys today?

My mum has asked me to come up with some kind of invite using an image she has sent me, she said she was thinking postcard sized and wants something simple. All I can come up with is to mount this picture onto some card and then I am stuck!! The writing will all go on the back which I can type out and print off but for the front I am stuck!! Any suggestions? bit of background -
For my mum, she will be 50, she is having an proper english cream tea for all of her friends at a little shack type club at the side of the canal. There will be all of her family there as it will be my Grandads memorial the same weekend (not sure if before or after)

Could you make teabag cards, with the invitation and a teabag slipped inside and just back the image onto some matching cardstock and tie with matching ribbon

  • Only thing i can think of quickly is to put Mums name

So it reads Mums English summer cream teas
Backed onto card, to form a postcard.

I will have a think though and see if anything else springs to mind x

Love the teabag card idea, especially if you can buy some English Breakfast Teabags to pop inside. You could make something like a wallet card with the teabag in one side and the invitation and reply card in the other. My favourite font at the moment is the freebie from Pink Petticoat.

    Hi Rusty

What a lovely strong retro image to work with. I think Choccy's T bag idea is a stroke of genius. The only thng I can think of that might fit in the theme would be gingham ribbon or a lacy doily edge/backing paper?

Love that cream tea image Rusty, also the wallet card idea with a teabag. Can I have an invite, I love tea and cakes :D

Dawnteabag, have you seen Craftwork Cards have some stamp sets in their sale now and the gorgeous drink one is there, £10 down to £6 ;), I am so tempted but must resist, must resist. Maybe they'll have it at the NEC ? Trying to get OH to book the Friday off work ;).

My monkeys are better today but still poorly, can't see DS1 going back to school til maybe Thursday.

Passion for Promarkers have a good challenge this week - it's a girly theme but any Promarker colours. I'm going to give it a go I think.

    Take care everyone x

sunrise27 Your easel cards are brilliant and love the idea of your desk calendar

jazabelle Your cards are lovely and I especially like your "black dress" - is it just made from folded paper?

Marg I love your idea of the gingham ribbon I think that would look great and very retro.

Flourgirl thanks for the links to the fonts. I was looking for something like that for my next card. Cheers

thriftyscotslass Hope you have fun at the gym - you're braver than me I haven't stepped foot in mine for over a week.

    Morning Everyone! :D
Quicky update I have a new washing machine as of yesterday, got so excitied put a load on only to find that when they fitted my kitchen the down/over flow pipe wasn't attached resulting in flooding my kitchen. It's one thing then another I wish I never got a new one now :( So they're coming to fix the cupboard which came off and the one that got wet which has started to separate!
On a good note I bought this Sunday and it came today! though something I ordered Wednesday I'm still waiting for, swings and roundabouts lol Going to read back now :) Hope you all are having a good day
