  • i to thought making cards would work out cheaper , which i spose in a sense is true but i can see why not when you get so addicted to buying new stuff and papers lol

When i was 7 it was my nan & grandad's 25th wedding anniversary, i wanted to make them a card and all we had in the house was paper, paint and cornflakes.

Yes i kow how random are cornflakes but thats all i could find to stick on. I was only 7.

So i made them a card and used the paint to stick the cornflakes to the paper.

My nan & grandad loved it, they said it was the best card they ever got. :T
My grandad died a little later that year but my nanna still has my card to this very day, sealed in a bag - minus the cornflakes of course as they fell off some 20 years ago.

So in that respect card-making is definately cheaper.

Hi All, Sorry not been on here in MONTHS! I haven't been doing card making so didn't feel I could join in! :o I have fits and starts with my card making and for a while its taken a back bench. I have recently been feeling 'slightly Christmassy' which is why you may have seen me on other threads.

My ears were burning however when you mentioned whether cardmaking was cheaper than buying one. I went to my mother-in-law's 70th birthday party a couple of weeks ago and get this, one of the blokes (from her other son's rugby club!) made this from the box that his washing machine came in!:rotfl:

(But even this is more effort than some blokes go to! :D)
