Marg that's my problem too i'm soooooo slow . Don't think i'd want marg simpsons voice either or that hair must be a devil to look after. do you sleep with a grocery sack on your hair too.lol. Kaitlyn thinks people are mean calling you marg . Probably because her grandad's sister is called margaret and he calls her marg or maggie when he wants to wind her up. you'd think they'd have grown out of that at 57 and 55 years old lol .
Ali It's no fun being ill especially when the kids are too. Hope you all feel better soon .Cross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20

Louby - when is the deadline for the challenge, think i have missed that somewhere.
I think i have a promarker addiction, i sat down last night at 7pm after stamping some images with my new stamps, started colouring them in and before i knew it, it was 2am.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T

I haven't gave a deadline for the challenge. Shall we say sun evening and and i will draw a name monday morning then if people don't have time. Anyone can do it but i will only put the names of thoses that didn't go to the NEC in the hat so that al least they get some goodies.
On promarkers. i bought my first lot the other day and just been having a little go. I printed my image on paper. I think this is where i went wrong, should it be card? as i found if i went to near the lines of the image the colour bled. So i had colour where i didn't want it.
Also what are everyones favs colours? as the colour on the web is not really the same as when it is on paper. I was disapointed. I bought what i thought would make a good skin colour and it is awful. I also bought a burgundy which looked a quite nice deep red but it is more like brown and i got primrose and that isn't as nice as it looks on-line either.:)Mummy to 2 wonderful boysWant to be fit for 30 not fat at 30but i want never gets!!!0 -
My prize arrived this morning it's a storage box that holds 100 skeins of cross stitch thread very handy as i have a few cough . need more than 1 box though lol. And i got a thread cutter a thread conditioner block 2 magnets for holding scissors, needles etc and what looks like a pen but has a magnet on the end .Cross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20

I bought my promarkers off amazon i got the 3 different manga sets as they had a good selection. 10 pens and a fineliner for £11.70 a set. Cheaper than buying the pens individually.
After experiementing a lot last night - i decided that 'blush' was a good skin colour very pale as a lot of the others were coming out quite dark.
I also print / stamp onto card and i bought some from rayman yesterday - its raymans own brand smooth finish 200gsm and is £5.99 per pack of 50 sheets but it is on 342 so i got 2 white packs and 1 cream. My pens dont bleed using this where as the card i was using from the craft shop it did bleed.
I have also learnt very quickly NOT to have another sheet underneath as the pens sometimes go righ through the card onto the next page.
I sit on the sofa with my clipboard and tub of pens, the kids think im going a little loopy and keep telling me im naughty for not sharing my new felt tip pens.
I have a liitle bit of scrap card that i test the colour on before putting in on my image then if its the wrong colour i havent ruined my picture. As they look nothing like they do on the net or on the label.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

princesswoo I use blush for the skin too and vanilla is good for doing bears . I have a piece of card to test on first too. My kids are grown up and they walk past saying god mother how old are you. my eldest asked last night what i wanted for christmas and one of the youngest said a colouring book and felt pens will do . Eldest said i can manage a colouring book but at those prices she's buying her own felt pens. Scrooge . I use mine on the card from wilkinsons at 4 quid or rymans .Cross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20

Thanks for the promarker advice, I am glad it isn't just me that thinks the colours aren't the same as on the web. I have had a busy morning, iv'e done 4 more xmas cards. Sorry about the image size i have re-sized the image and edited my post several times but the image is either really tiny or really big.:)Mummy to 2 wonderful boysWant to be fit for 30 not fat at 30but i want never gets!!!0

Craftygranny - I'm just a tiny bit older that Kaitlyn's Grandad & Sister! Margaret was a very common name then, I've got 5 friends all called Margaret too. I don't answer to Maggie from ANYONE but my brothers & a couple of friends call me Marg. It could be worse..... when one of my brothers was little he had trouble with speech & couldn't manage to say Margaret & I was 'Dada'. Lucky that didn't stick! Same brothers when young would probably have said grocery sack on whole head.:rotfl:
Well done on your win - could you double up on your threads? Mine are mainly just a tangled heap inherited from my Mum.
Re Promarkers - I use Copic Ciao's but I printed a colourchart off the net then went through & put a dab of each one I've got next to the relevant colour to give me an idea how they change - also should stop me buying the same ones twice. The lady in my local shop also 'sold' me 10 sheets of very smooth paper to colour on but I've not used it yet I'm just using 160gms at the moment. Think The wife has done experiments about printer ink & pens she may be able to advise
Lovely cards Louby0 -
