I have a cuttlebug which i love for the embossing folders, however, i have just been on another site www.sizzix.co.uk (in the clearnace section)where all the alphabet sets are reduced from about £70 to £12-£13, do these work in the cuttlebug. They are sizzlits dies.
What other make of dies work in the cuttlebug? Or am i going to have to invest in a sizzix machine and if so which one?
The only dies i can find for the cuttlebug and in my local craft shop are the 2inch dies and there all a bit small.
Im really confused and could do with some guidance from those in the know.
I have just used a sizzlits die in my cuttlebug to cut out some snowmen the only thing you have to do is use 2 B plates as if you were using an embossing folder. The sizzlits are thicker than the other dies but it still worked. So its A and B plate then your die face up with your card on the top then your B plate on top of that. Does that make sense?0 -

I had a sidekick before OH bought my bug and use sizzix dies in it - I have a sizzix alphabet and it works fine with flourgirls sandwich - I do sometimes have to put an extra layer of card in but think that's coz my B plates are a bit curved.
There are some great offers on that site - you can also use the originals dies in it as wellOfficially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

My 14 year old daughter would love to start card making. I have never done anything like that before and don't know where to start. I've had a look around the hobbycraft site but don't know what she needs.
To save me wasting lots of money, could anyone please advise me on what basics I need and where best to buy them.Mortgage Free in 3-T2 : Started at £151,000 Nov. 2009 Mortgage Free Oct 1st 2015

You're welcome princesswoo.
I got my craft time today so new stuff on my blog and it's 50% bear free :rotfl:.
Hi Spidystrider - this is soooo not a moneysaving thread.
Basics would be - scissors, sticky pads (pound shop), double sided tape, card and envelopes, something to work on like a worktop saver thingy and printer and lots of coloured ink cartridges.
Someone posted a link to lots of freebie sites a few pages back my favourites for freebies are pollycraft, and funky fairies (scroll down as freebies are near the bottom on the right)
Almost forgot a postman with very strong arms who won't bend things to fit them through your letter box lol!Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

I agree about this thread not being money saving. Its cost me a fortune. But its been a great source of inspiration and links to sites for products. Which technically has saved me money otherwise i would have paid full price for them.
But i dont have any other indulgences and very rarely go out, not easy with 3 kids inc a newborn.
I got the kids to bed on time tonight so i could have a craft night and i have a block, im sat at my desk, looking at all my stuff and cant do a single thing.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
