    Gorgeous dress hels :)
flourgirl - great challenge card, it's so pretty. Your stitched cards always look flawless.
rainmac - good luck with the craft fair; hope the pain has eased off some by Sunday.
rusty - glad you got your mojo back :)
melissa - I can't believe you found time to make a scrapbook page already! It's lovely - but then with such a beautiful subject, how could it not be? :)

Hope everyone is well; I'm sorry for not commenting on more cards, I do enjoy looking at all of them. Hi to all newbies. :hello:

I stumbled across this file-share folder; it's worth a scroll through as there are some good freebie images in there.
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)

WOW!! Hels your dress is stunning, the red one reminds me of Lesley Garrett she wore one similar on an album cover.

  • Melissa - did you get the doily lace punch? I bought one this week from the secret crafter; there's 15% off your order if you sign up for their newsletter, so the punch cost £13.60 instead of £16. I also got some promarkers; they worked out at £6.38 for a five-pack instead of £7.50. P&P was very reasonable too, approx. £2.

Does anyone here use Memento inkpads? I've just bought a black one - it stamps very crisp, clear images but when using it for wording it appears very blurry. Also, when colouring the images with promarkers, they 'bleed' over the lines. I've made sure that the ink has dried before colouring, so I can't work out what the problem is?

Dragonllew I'm still confused on the embosing malarky... doesn't take much to confuse me... ok if i stamp an image then pour on the powder do i just use the heat gun then? gosh i sound so stupid!
Craftygranny I've promised Joshua he can go through my craft drawers tomorrow and pick what bits and bobs he would like to use to make a card for kaitlyn!
and totally off the subject here is my dress..... it's the red one but I've gone for ivory though I couldnt bring myself to go for red even though it would be fitting for the time of year!

Aww gorgeous dress - great choice! Look at this video for help on how to emboss:

Basically you stamp, cover in powder, tap off excess then heat until it melts! x

I haven't tried Momento ink but Stazon is really good for not bleeding! x

Craftygranny - fantastic cards on your blog - I'm sure your Dad will love his.

jailhousebabe - I got my punch from modscraps when they were having their 20% off, they didn't have the doily lace one in stock so I got the scalloped one instead with the holes. I am impressed it has punched through my bazzill cardstock - the edges are a bit fuzzy, but there's no way my fiskars one would have worked on cardstock - it was much easier to line up too. When I first bought my promarkers I read up on them and people recommended that you use impress pads or momento ink. I bought an impress one from ebay - it stamps crisp images too. Sometimes I find that the promarkers bleed - especially with my ivory pen, I just try to stay a bit away from the edge of the image.

Saveapenny - its good to have you back. Congratulations on all of your nappy cake orders. I'm sure Hels will love her invites!

Nice to see you back saveapenny, and congrats on the nappy cake orders ;).

Not sure if it will end up as an op or not, apparently it depends on wether they can see the problem when I have a scan or not. Part of me wants an op so that it is done and dusted quick, but another part of me is screaming out cause I have the kids to look after and what happens after I have had an op etc? OH says it will probably be keyhole surgery? but just have to sit and wait.

    Are you ok now?

Hels - Beautiful dress :) I bet you will look stunning!!

Here are a couple of pics ....

I was going to use this as part of the CP challenge but I hate it :( so I will remake 2 new ones!

    DSCN3486.jpg

then I followed a sketch ... but it went wrong .... This would have been my card for the stitched challenge as I drew stitches on the deep red card! I may well try and do another one though.

Then these were from the lovely Kaitlyn
    this one for Thomas
