not sure i'll get much crafting done today Kaitlyn has been to hospital today she woke up screaming her ear was hurting the doc saw her this morning then sent her to hospital for a second opinion turns out she has a severe ear infection . She was fine yesterday. She has now been happily sleeping on and off all day and i'm shattered.
One piece of good news though i was a naughty granny on sunday and ordered six new stamps from funky kits and they came today. I got the manga girl 1 and 2 the manga boy and manga kids plus hamish with teddy on sleigh and snowflake (she's beautiful ) .
I went to a shop near me on saturday and bought some of the craftwork card bird boxes they only had small and i'm quite disappointed how small they are. Hopefully they'll have large next time i go.Cross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20

Hi everyone. I'm new to card making, been doing it a year. I make cards from kits/magazines and use decoupiage and have just started stamping.
But i was wondering where you buy your materials from. I keep watching QVC and create and craft but i'm never sure whether it is actually good quality and worth it or not. Are there online shops which are better and better for money? I don't like to spend too much as i feel guilty that my hobby is expensive.
What kind of stamp ink pads do you buy? is it better to spend a lot on them? I was also wondering what you colour your pictures in with as i don't want my cards to look like they've been coloured in by a child.
Sorry to ask so many questions i was hoping to unlock some of your knowledge.
Thanks

Hels have you got either a photo editing software or Microsoft Publisher? I've never done it but I think you can resize in word using ' insert image' into a text document but only ever resize from the coner anchors otherwise it can go out of shape, from the corners will always keep in ratio with its size (did I write that?) Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the ground each morning the devil says, "OH CARP, SHE'S UP"! :whistle:0

Crafty people of the world - i need a beautiful solution to lots of paper work. when bills, letters etc come in, they get flung in a pile and sorted every so often, but i am envisaging some sort of storage where by "banking" goes in one box/holder/envelope "receipts" in another etc. but i want it to be pretty - any of you clever types seen anything like this??

Charlie23 welcome to this sunny place! Stay with us as we often post links to online stores that have a particular bargain Another place to have a look at is www.ukscrappers.co.uk Its not just for scrapbooking. Have a look in the thread on the forum 'and now a word from our sponsors'. This is the place where the sponsors of UKS post their special offers. You will often find the news of new papers that are coming out or have a look in the 'marketplace' where scrappers or cardmakers are selling off their unwanted stuff. I've got lots of real good bargains from there. If you like the look of a site's shop sign up for their newsletter.
Hope this helps:whistle: Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the ground each morning the devil says, "OH CARP, SHE'S UP"! :whistle:0 -
Rusty - hope you and the kids are feeling better. Well done on winning the CCC challenge with such a fab card. Happy birthday to your son tomorrow.
Flourgirl - fab note/calendar/post it set - I'm sure everyone you give them too will love them. I was having a nosey on your blog and wondered where you got your coasters from? Really struggling to find much on the net, and would like to give these a try.
Craftygranny - hope Kaitlyn is feeling better soon.
Great cards hels and skiergirl on your blogs.
Skiergirl, hope all goes well at the dentist tomorrow. I had to have a chipped front tooth fixed about a month ago. I was fine, the only thing that I wasn't expecting was that she built the tooth up slightly higher than it should be so that I can, through wear grind it down to the right height. It felt wierd for a while but is now the right height and is such a good colour match that you can't tell I've had it done.
Welcome to the thread Charlie 23, you will soon be addicted to it. Lots of people put websites up on this thread with special offers and freebies. Some of the sites I use are:
