ADVICE PLEASE
I am seriously thinking in investing in a sizzix or cuttlebug.
I dont really know the differences betwen the 2.
WHich would be best for initial outlay, usage and cost of new dies.
Also where is the best place to buy one?
I dont do much card making but i have a lot of invites and things to make over the next few months, so thought i would invest in one then i might make more cards /invites. Mainly for the embellsihments. I dont think i would use the massive dies, but you never know i might just get into scrapbooking in time.
Any tips etc would be greatfully recieved.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!:T0 -
Great card mumhug - please don't sell your stash when you can make things like that - hugs as well!
Congrats salesadmin.
Good luck rainmac - I have never ever opened my eyes in the dentist - had nasty experience with a bodged filling which ended in a root canal years ago and have hated going ever since. I now take DD with me and have to close my ears as well as she has an outbreak of what's that for etc etc that makes me break out in sweat :rotfl::rotfl:.
Choccy sent me her elves so feel better todayOfficially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Unless you're going to use the bigz dies then all the dies work in both machines so they're just as expensive no matter which you get. (think you can use bigz in a bug as well but don't know how)
I have a cuttlebug personally and love it I bought it mainly for the embossing folders- mainly coz it folds up so takes up less space.
Can't help with the best place to buy as I've had mine over a year but there was a cheap offer with a discount from craftsuperstore I think.
You have to shop around for dies but buying them can become expensive especially if you get a nestie addiction.
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

I don't know either- I won a Big Shot and have never seen a Cuttlebug 'In real life' so I'd have to say whichever you can get cheapest at the time as I think you can use most dies in either machine. Not sure whether the CB is smaller than the Big Shot though... I do find it's *huge* and doesn't quite fit on my shelf so hangs off lol

Jamtart - have you bought anything yet???
Rainmac - good luck at the dentist!0 -
My local craft shop sells the cuttle bug but doesnt have a very good range of dies, where as they have 100's of sizzix dies but only stock the machine that fits the small sizzlets.
If the dies from either machine work in either machine i think i will go for the cuttlebug as it does look more storage friendly.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

I've never even seen a cuttlebug nor know what one does! I am SOOO out of the crafting loop! Used to work in one of the big craft shops back in the day when card making and scrapping was all shiny and new and I would be right on top of all the new products, now I haven't got a clue!!
Depending on what you want your dies for, may be cheaper just to buy ready cut shapes online? I have a sizzix but some of the eBay sellers are that cheap it seriously isn't worth sitting and cutting them myself. 20 shapes for 1p etc - can't even buy card that cheaply. I sold a lot of my dies about 18 months ago and only have the ones I can't seem to buy ready-cut (such as super tag!). As for the big shot, I love the look of it, but I just know I won't use it because my sizzix rarely gets used.

Melissa - I am resisting temptation but not for long I don't think! I have been twittering with Shimelle who said it depends on the value of the parcel as to the customs costs. Maybe we should do a big MSE order and save on postage and customs by getting one big import!I might do an order in a few weeks when I have more time and have hours to look at stuff. I fear it may be a big big order though as the stuff is absolutely divine! However to justify this I haven't crafted anything since March due to work commitments and therefore NEED to buy new stuff
