Hi islandboy
I think you are referring to our Energy Online Extra Saver (version 14) tariff.
Just to confirm, the discount on this tariff is guaranteed until 1 September 2010.

Don't forget when you switch away (no matter how long you've paid them loyally) Eon will NOT grant any discount on your final bill. Time it wrong and this could be a very sizeable sum. TBH, the £60 cashback for EDF dual fuel switch is a far better financial decision if you check out the switching sites (I'd be very surprised if EDFs online 5 tariff isn't much much cheaper than any Eon tariff. And EDF have no sneaky 'exit fees'.)Call me Carmine....

Energy Helpline doesnt include EDF O5 within any of its dual fuel results for me
v2 comes up @ 32% more expensive than Scottish Power online energy. :eek:0 -

That's weird, BLF
. In my Yorkshire region on average usage (20,500 & 3,300) online 5 is by a country mile cheaper than any other dual fuel tariff. £1011 with BG websaver 3 and £969 with EDF Online 5 (it's £72 cheaper than the cheapest Eon tariff!). When you consider Websaver 3 has the dreaded exit fee and online 5 has no such fee then it becomes a bit of a no-brainer for serial switchers. Call me Carmine....

My personal suspicion for some time not based on any facts is that energy companies havent been competing very hard in areas that they previously had a monopoly due to them retaining a large percentage of the former area monopoly customers for apparent reasons. ( large number of users that have never switched) EDF is of course formerly SWEB, EDF have never appeared in any comparison results competitive as regards my usage/postcode. ( British Gas are one exception due to its apparent policy of having the cheapest national dual fuel online tariff following its once abysmal reputation.)0 -
Hello Malc, I researched all day Sun' for the cheapest supplier and came up with Eon at Quidco (with £80 cahback). It was the Extra Saver 14. Made a call to Eon today to check all the details and they were spot on with the monthly DD payments of £90. Went to sogn up and was told the tariff has been ended although they are still advertising it at Quidco. A new tariff starts tomorrow which will actually be cheaper but would have been nice to get the £80 cashback to help offset paying off EDF (Enlarge Debit payment Frequently)0

Looks like Eon have a new tariff 'SaveOnline V1' starting today that works out cheapest for me (beating npower's Web 16 by £20 pa). New Eon tariff does not yet show on uSwitch or SimplySwitch but is showing at confused.com and energyhelpline.

LOL. It's a bloody minefield out there!
Edit: On average usage (20,500 & 3,300) in the Yorkshire region that new Eon tariff is still £41 more expensive than EDF online 5. They're getting there, though...;)Call me Carmine....
