I'm flying with easyjet to finland in September. I booked this on friday last week, and today on the website they are advertising £10 off end of season sale, this would have saved me a total of £40 on my booking, is there anything I can do to take advantage of this offer?

That's the luck of the draw unfortunately. Prices go up and down by the minute according to the level of bookings. Its called "yield management". Most airlines use the same system.

Would you have complained if the prices had gone up after you had booked?

There is an easyjet price promise

If the price has dropped then easyjet will offer you flight credit, you'd have to ring them and quote your reference and it must show as cheaper on the system

You could use the credit towards another flight or towards extra baggage or speedy boarding

However the Easyjet price promise is not applicable to any fares which have been reduced through promotions which is probably what has happened in your case. Once the promotion has ended you could check if it's still lower

If the price went up would you offer to pay the difference?

edit: sorry, trisontana has already made that point :p

I posted the following on the Grabbit, and Overseas report Bargains Boards on Friday 31/7/09:-

Have just got this email. The cheap prices are highlighted in yellow when you go to choose flights, and include the discount:-
Our end of season sale starts today!

There is a guaranteed £10 off over 500,000 seats. That’s over 40% discount on some of our most popular destinations. But hurry this offer won’t last long.

    Book by 5 August 2009 for travel between 1 September – 30 November 2009

If you booked on Friday you would have received the sale price.
