the only problem with being a lone worker is that no one does any work when you are away so you are then playing catch up when you return.

I know that feeling as I am a lone worker, hope you have a good time at the cottage.
I am aiming to be debt free by the time I am 30 (May 2010)

    Hello People!

I have had a no spend day today and it feels so satisfying! When i first started to cut back (when my marriage ended) it was a really depressing thought that i couldn't go shopping when i wanted etc. Now i find it so satisfying knowing that i'm not spending any money!! I love thinking of new ways to cut back - how sad!!

    My day has consisted of

    Checking e-mails
Walking 2 mad dogs (Charlie and Harry!)
Going to my Mum's for tea - which i love cos she spoils me!
Watching a DVD tonight - Borrowed from Sister

    Have a good day all!

Hi all, sorry everyone seems to be suffering a slump in sparkle. :( You can count me in on that - must be a weather thing.

    1) Went to work
    2) SC x 10p
    3) LSD - paper and a can of coke
    4) Off to the park in a mo for free entertainment within walking distance - although it looks like rain.
    5) Checked online banking - lucky I did as a DD has been taken out twice:mad: Will phone bank when I can get to the phone and sort it out. (OH works from home so the phone is off limits during the day- hey that's quite DFW too!)
    6) B has a friend round and they have been entertaining themselves for hours with her ancient i-toy that has been in the cupboard for years. Not quite a Wii but free fun!
    7) Packed lunch at work.
    8) Dinner cooked from scratch.
    9) Desperate Romantics on BBC2 tonight for free entertainment.
    10) Ordered a £10 voucher from survey site for Xmas stash. And wrote my Christmas list.
    11) Took a huge bag of clothes to the charity shop for good karma.

I feel exactly the same rachel - not even dressed yet, trying to find some ooomph from somewhere!
I saw yesterday that you've ordered a new laptop from tesco - do you mind me asking which one? I could do with another one as I'm going to Uni too next month, doing Education studies for teaching assistants...maybe I'll be on the PGCE like you in a few years:rolleyes:

    Its actually just arrived!
    Its an HP Compaq CQ60-305.
It was on a Tesco Direct email sent yesterday for £299. I asked the IT guy and he said it was fine for my needs - email, internet, word and powerpoint docs.
Looks OK to me although I haven't taken it out of the box yet!
