Here's a cake for your dd Nic! :bdaycake:Happy Birthday to her! This one won't make her feel sick (((hugs))) hope she feels better soon. My dd (25) also has swine flu!

    Happy wedding anniversary to Sistercas:beer:

DD is sleeping for England, seems to be the way the tamiflu is affecting her. At least she has not been sick which we were warned about. So long as you take some food with the tamiflu it seems ok. (((hugs))) to all the others with Swine flu! So far the rest of us are ok (fingers crossed!).

Good luck Halight with the hosp visit!

Today I have Mt ironing to conquer! Really must try to keep on top of it just in case oh and i make it away for our holiday on Monday!

Right must catch up on everyones news now and then get some breakfast organised!

    Take care all

Hi Chums hopfully the weather will be fine today.Going with DD and four of the children to Whitstable to let the little ones go 'crabbing'.One DGS is going off fishing with his pals, so that leaves us with one 16year old girl and three little boys of 5,8 &9.I will take the 16 year old around the shops for half an hour, and DD will be on the beach with the little ones.Might go into the market and get some fish as its as fresh as you can buy it there.DD's scan went o.k. she has a few gall stones but nothing to worry too much about at the moment .She had her kidneys scanned as well and they were thankfully all clear. Doctor says that if she watches her diet carefully they may be able to dissipate the stones with medication.
Looking a bit dull at the moment but the forecast is good. Just off to have some breakfast have a good day everyone

    Morning :hello:

Raining here too, which is a shame as DH and DS2 are off to work for the first time in weeks and its outside work up ladders-they'll have to seehow it goes.DS1 will be off to the Job centre in an hour so I get the house to myself for a short while.

    Jobs for today include-

I have to get myself organised for the packed lunches again, because the menfolk have been at home ages I haven't had to do it,so I need to check out the fridge to see what I need as they like some form of salad.

    1 washer load
    Some ironing
Unload dishwasher and swish and swipe
    Make some bread
    Some sewing
Sort out the freezer. Now I have some room in the little one I have a bit of room for manoevre.Might find something for tea in there,no doubt, and eat the last of the hg spuds.

That'll keep me busy for a while, then I might make some cards- I save this as a treat for myself, then end up not doing it as something else comes up.

Halight-hope it goes well with your consultant this morning.

Hope all the poorly people get better soon.

  • Morning all!

Good luck at the hospital today Halight and Happy Anniversary to you Mr & Mrs Sistercas :) It's grey, drizzley and yuck here today, glad I got most of the washing done yesterday. Once the mornings cleaning is done I've got some work to do (work from home) then once that's done I can get the knitting or cross stitch out for an hour or so, feeling a little zapped of energy today, not been sleeping well since about Thursday, nothing worrying me, so I don't understand it

Off to the cinema tonight for a free screening of The Ugly Truth, should be fun, although DH pulled that funny 'its a chick flick' face when I told him what we were going to see. Still its free so its worth a shot. Baked Potato with Chicken Chilli Bean filling for tea as it has to be something quick tonight. May do a little baking this afternoon, could do with some scones or muffins making, see how I feel later. Hugs to all those that need one and hope everyone has a good day.

Happy Anniversary, Mr and Mrs Sistercas!

Halight - good luck at the hospital.

N9eav - glad you're feeling better and have a few days off to look forward to. I know what you mean about holidaymakers. I was brought up in Weston-super-Mare and, although it boosted the economy and kept me in work whilst I was a student, it meant the town would be heaving with people. Cornwall must be a lot worse than W-s-M, I should think. At least the tide comes in there!

Nic - hope DD feels better soon.

Same goes for your DD, too, Catznine!

Jackie0 - I used to love crabbing with my kids! Have fun! There's a part of the seafront in W-s-M called Anchor Head - great for crabs! All good free entertainment and all the crabs get put back where they're found, so no harm done to them and an education for the little ones!

Well, I have prepped for Beef Bourgignon, made more plum crumbles - the plums are coming at me from all directions. Luckily, they are really tasty and crumble is so easy to make. I've got two in the oven.

Weather here is - well, it wouldn't be fair to talk about it, so I won't.

I'm having my first French hair cut on Saturday. DH is insisting on waiting until he can see his usual girl in the UK to get his hair cut. Consequently, his hair is longer than I've ever known it in over thirty years, and I don't like it! Considering he was in the RAF when we met and had really short hair, this is quite different!

I have a huge pile of ironing which I will do once I've finished my chores; I still have to wash the kitchen floor - I've just swept it and the broom snapped in half, so that will be need replacing when I go shopping. I also need to tidy up DH's accounts ready for the accountant. The worst is done, which I'm really relieved about.

I'm still jumping every time the phone goes because DIL is due on 15th August which really isn't too far away! We are going back to the UK on that day but, if she has the baby earlier, we will alter the booking and leave earlier. This week will be spent trying to get as much sorted out here as I can.

Anyway, the oven has just beeped so the crumbles need to come out.

    Have a great day, everyone.

    Morning all,

Well the weather has been gorgeous here lately. Won't be long before I"m whining about the heat so I might as well enjoy it. We could do with a bit of rain though as the grass is starting to die in places. DH still home today. He goes to work tomorrow. He's still not great so I hope he can get through tomorrow night. Been catching up with a few odd jobs today. Made some bread & Thriftlady's Chocolate Fudge Pudding. Had it with cream for pudding tonight. :D I had a chocolate craving.

    Sistercas  Happy Anniversary.
halight I hope all goes well today.
