Yellow pop-up

Hi
Sorry if this has been mentioned before. I did do a search but my answer didn't come up.
See, following the NUMEROUS (TWENTY-SEVEN posts was it?) forum rules. Man, I'm a member of lots of forums but this one wins hands down for rule set.
Anyway, digression.
How do I disable the yellow pop-up box when I'm browsing the forums. The box summarises (I guess) the first post of the thread). Extremely annoying and distracting.
Thanks
Pete

Don't hover your cursor over the thread title?

That would certainly explain it. So how do I reduce the latency period of mouse input so as they come up less quickly? Or not at all? My "hover" is so short a time period so to actually be virtually "movement"

Well, talk about 'not being able to please all of the people all of the time'! :rotfl:
I like that feature.
I curse when it doesn't work
I miss it when I go to other sites:(
If you're unable to disable it, maybe the solution is to keep the cursor resting quietly at the side of the board, until you've decided which thread you want to read?
After all, unless you're "hovering" over the thread title, you're not going to trigger the function, are you? :beer:0 -
Well absolutely. That's why I was asking for the checkbox to disable it. It doesn't suit me, that's all.
I accept that.
But, if the thread title entices you enough to make you "hover" over it before clicking, why would the existence of the pop-up box put you off?
If the content of the pop up box puts you off reading the whole post/thread, isn't that an advantage rather than a problem?
I'm still not understanding your problem here.
You can avoid the pop-up box by keeping your cursor away from the thread titles. You can use the pop-up box to help you decide if the thread really interests you or not. Which helps you avoid clicking on irrelevant (for you) threads.

But I'm not (deliberately) hovering over it. The time spent with the cursor over the title is very small.

I can see that, but the contant flicker and change of the yellow boxes is so distracting and may just entice an epileptic fit. OK, so I'm exagerating but I find very annoying. If the content of the pop up box puts you off reading the whole post/thread, isn't that an advantage rather than a problem?
But I want my cursor to hand so as I can click on the thread titles that grab me!You can avoid the pop-up box by keeping your cursor away from the thread titles.
