I have got myself in a MASSIVE pickle

Okay so iv always been horrendous with money and now its even worse without the rents on my back. I decided to work in america over the summer but on my way here i lost my cards.. and still dont have them. before i came i sent two cheques to pay for my uni accomodation for when i get back and one of them has bounced of nearly 400 pounds.. before i came to america i hadnt saved enough money (because i cant save for the life of me) and my dad lent me 800 pounds and i got 500 off my mum and gran. oh yeah the 800 was supposed to make sure the cheques went through so i dont know whats wrong their. anyway the 500 soon ran out and the job that i had been offerd had reduced their hours to ones that i could not live off so i decided to look for more work. in the mean time i had to pay my rent so i owe the girl i am living with one months rent but iv payd one off. my mum had to wire me some more money when she barely has any herself. the only job i have managed to get hold of is a door to door sales job which is pure luck..if i get lucky i could make 1000 in a week if i get unlucky i could make nothing. so the cheque for my housing in the uk bounced and i have a week to send them another one otherwise they are going to start charging extra ..which they have already done. Then i dont seem to be able to ring student.gov, im guessing this is because its and 0845 number or something, they have no email address and no other contact numbers and i need to ring them before i can even log into my finance application so im i could potentially be starting university for the second year with no financial help whatsoever and as i will be paying rent .. thats one hell of a big deal.

So yeah ..im in a pickle and dont have a clue where to start.. i feel guilty more than anything..i dont owe some heartless bank i owe my family and friends ..and if i cant pay the house it messes my housemates situation up. i just dont know what to do or if their is even anything i can do without asking family for more money or something. ANY advice ANYTHING would be appreciated ..even if you tell me im stupid and should learn the values of money lol. Also anyone who reads this..kep your fingers crossed i sell something this week lol :) thanks muchos appreciated

If you go to http://www.saynoto0870.com you will be able to find a geographical (ie normal) number you can call.

Doesn't solve all your problems, but it's a start!
  • No easy solutions I'm afraid.
    1. do you have to stay in the states? Wouldn't it be cheaper to come home early?
    2. do you have internet banking to see what's happened to your money?
    3. why do you need to ring SFE before logging in?
    4. can you set up your mum or dad to talk with SFE if you need to ring them? (see below)
    5. how's your overdraft?
