I certainly don't condone the attitude at your work place but... if you're too ill to go to work... you're too ill to be going to the Gold Circle at a festival/concert in my view...
If as an employer someone had called in sick but I found out they had attended a festival I'd have them up for diciplinary so quick the ink on the paper from the meeting invite hadn't dried before they were on a final written warning...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Wondered where this came from until I looked at the OPs sig..............yes I agree. Too much unable to work but I can manage to do anything sociable. I understand if the OP cannot work, but how would anyone feel having to cover for sick leave and then maybe next to sickee at a concert?0 -
Lol at the super slueths! Nowt much gets past this board.
The OP has 4 days till the festival though, they might rest up go to the festival and then return to work for all we know.0 -
Im actually going back to work on Thursday. (as I mentioned in post 19)
thats 2 full days before the concert, and I will have worked two full shifts when it comes to the day of the concert(15 hours) plus I will be working the day after the concert - the day I have taken for the gig is my scheduled day off.
I dont see how that would be a disciplinary offence if I've actually gone back to work 2 clear days before I go to the gig?! I've paid almost £500 for this weekend and thats another of the reasons I didnt want any time off at all. I see your point though - mum said the same thing (but then again she thinks if your leg's hanging off you should crawl into work on your one remaining leg!)*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200
