Where to visit in Carvoeiro, The Algarve

Hi,

We are going to Carvoeiro in just over a week. Does anybody have any insider tips on good places to eat or good places to visit? I am going with my husband, 2 kids (girls aged 5 and 7) and my parents. We are staying in a villa and have use of a hire car for 2 weeks.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks x

Loads of great places to visit in the Algarve.

Monchique is a pretty little town up in the mountains, drive from there up to Foia on a clear day and you can see for miles, all the way down to the coast.

Praia da Rocha is a nice place go, it's one of my favourite beaches and there is a lovely little Italian place on the sea front that does great pizzas!!

Silves is a town with a great castle to look round, pretty steep in places but worth a visit if castles are your thing!!

Zoo Marine is great for a day trip with the kids!!

Hope you have a great time :)

There is a beach called Praia d ana which is worth a visit, I think it takes about 20 mins from Carvoeiro and is on the way into Lagos. Absolutely stunning beach and there is a cafe that sits on the edge of the cliff which is great taking in the views.

I liked Lagos as there was loads of places to eat and also during the day if you walk along the coastline you will come across secluded beaches which when we visited had nobody on them.

Depending on what you like it might be worth checking out www.tenniscarvoeiro.com as not only are there tennis courts but they also run dance classes for children and adults as well as having a swimming pool and mini golf etc.
