Cracked ipod touch

I bought my daughter an ipod touch for her birthday in June and today I found out that she has damaged it. The screen is cracked right accross and there is a small chip in the screen also. She says that she dropped it!

Does anyone know if you can get the screens replaced and if it is worth the cost or might it just be cheaper to buy a new one? I bought it from Littlewoods catalogue (I had a £30 off code) - any chance they might replace it?;)

I am furious with her for being so careless but want to try and get it fixed if possible! Any ideas would be most welcome!
