I went and it was the best festival Iv been to....being a fervent life long heavy metal fan it was right up my street...Metallica and Machine Head were awesome !!!! And to cap it all...due to a series of events on the friday I went there (long story ), I managed to blag the coveted blue VIP wristband....great camping loads of room, access to the VIP bar etc....bloody amazing....so a huge thanks to rock chick bird from me.....and the rumour is next years headliners are gonna be Iron Maiden.....Im there in 2010 even if I have to buy the tickets.

Edit...just checked ..the VIP tix would have cost me £225 each.........sweet lol

OMG if Iron Maiden really do play next year I am definitely going!!

I had a great time, never stayed for Metallica but highlights for me were Alice in Chains who were quite frankly brilliant and Lamb Of God.

You are so right about Alice in Chains. They were the surprise of the weekend for me as I'd never seen them before. I only intended to see a couple of songs but they were SO amazing, I stayed for the whole set. Definitely one of the highlights of the weekend!
    Thanks to all posters!
  • I won tix but as I was away on hols I didn't know until it was too late so am very upset that I missed out.

I could hear Metallica from my bedroom window and they sounded awesome. I'm saving already to go next year, and i'll make sure I'm not on hols!!!

Despite winning tickets, I didn't end up going cos I'm up the duff  - so OH & friends went instead.

They said they were disappointed with NIN too - they felt it was a bit of a self-indulgent set & no interaction with the audience.

They loved Airbourne & Alice In Chains & thought Metallica were awesome!! (as ever)

He brought me back some nose rings & plenty of video footage as a sort of consolation prize!! :p

    Glad everyone enjoyed themselves!

PS Melli - saw your pics on facebook, looks like you had a fab time!
The Rock Chick, she say 'courtesy costs nowt' - spread the word! :D
