NHS Family Car Lease, salary sacrifice, maternity

Hi

I currently work for the NHS and am considering leasing a car from NHS Fleet Solutions using their Family Car Lease Scheme/salary sacrifice. The scheme runs over 3 years and I would like some clarification on what the implications are if I fall pregnant and go on maternity leave during this 3 year period. I have been told that if this occurs you can either:

Option 1 - Return the car and the NHS would pay the early termination fee.
Option 2 - Continue paying for the car on a net salary basis (or standing order) which is much higher than the salary sacrifice.

Ideally, if I was to go on maternity leave we would like to retain the car. At what point would I have to change to paying the Net Salary Deduction rather than the Salary Sacrifice? I presume once you return to work you could revert back to the Salary Sacrifice scheme - could anyone clarify this for me?

If I was to drop to working two days per week, would anyone know if I would then be eligible for the scheme as technically I would not be classed as full-time (over 16 hours per week)?

I have tried to ask the trust these questions but am not getting too far and it all seems quite complicated!! It's so difficult to plan for these things but forewarned is forearmed as far as I am concerned!!

If anyone can help, please do!!! Many thanks
